I purchased “Yoga Kids: Education for the whole child through yoga” by Marsha Wenig for about $30 on Amazon.A few minutes after placing my order I visited the Yoga Kids website and found the SAME book for $18.I feel very ripped off by Amazon and Marsha Wenig.
I teach Kid’s Yoga & Energy Awareness and purchased this book as a reference book for ideas. I LOVE this book! It has great pictures (my 3.5 yr old also loves to look at it), simple explanations of the poses and wonderful ideas. I highly recommend this book if you are teaching your child yoga at home or are a teacher of anything kid-related. You could simply pick a few poses to teach them (my kids love volcano and I suggest they use this pose when they have ’steam to blow off’). I then use a Tai Chi pose called Waterfall to cool off all the fire from the volcano.
I LOVE THIS BOOK. beautiful picture and explain easy, detail to understand.
so kind book^^!
I’ve searched for many yoga books for kids. This is by far one of the best! The photographs are bright, happy and eye-catching. It would be a great gift for a child interested in yoga. It goes beyond what I’ve found in similar books, even including a section on the chakras. I would recommend this book for parents, school teachers and definitely yoga teachers. The concepts are fun, inventive, and easy to understand.
Adults who are new to yoga can learn a lot from this book, regarding the principles and philosophies of yogs. This is a very well-rounded resource. My daughter is only three so she cannot do everything yet, but there is still plenty. I’m glad that she will be able to grow into this book and continue to find new things within it. I particularly like the charts in the back of the text that suggest music and picture books or poems that complement the poses. This is simply THE BEST yoga book for adults and kids to use together.
