The Tufts University Guide to Total Nutrition: Second Edition
From America’s leading school of nutrition, this newly revised edition of the most comprehensive and easy-to-read guide–whose first edition sold 50,000 copies–offers practical information and advice on all aspects of food and diet. You may look at this tome and groan: it has 342 pages and no pictures. Bad science in a good cause. The book is filled with contradictory statements, dismissed many things that have since been proven correct, and full of quasi facts and political gerrymandering. There are lots better nutrition books out there.
Far from being garbage this book provides a balanced overview of information on nutrition. It does challenge ideas related to food fads or quick fixes to health concerns. But it is a good basic text to begin educating oneself on nutrition.
This book was alright. Many common sense ideas, and suggestions but their was some great tips about different food products that i did not know before. The 21-day diet is also a plus. This is a good book for someone with little or no science eduction, otherwise its simply restated ideas and facts.
