My husband used the last of his favorite tea. The store we bought it from went out of business. Amazon had it and sent it quickly.
If you drink a lot of tea and your palate is not attuned to the more delicate nuances of flavor. This tea is for you. It is a good solid full-bodied tea with bold flavor not masked by milk and or sweeteners. Personally I use a little rum or brandy on those cold dreary mornings and this tea shines.
Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Gold tastes even smoother than the Taylors English Breakfast. The loose leaf kilo bag is a thick foil bag that keeps the tea fresh.
Yorkshire Gold is one of my favorite breakfast teas. I like my tea strong, so I use two heaping measuring teaspoons for a 12 ounce tea pot. After preheating the pot with boiling water for one minute, I empty the pot, add the tea, fill of the pot with boiling water and let the tea steep for 5 minutes. Meanwhile I nuke a little milk in the microwave in my mug. I then add the tea to my mug, together with a packet of Splenda. The result is an excellent mug of breakfast tea, malty and rich tasting. It may not be as refined in flavor as teas one can buy from a specialty tea website, but it’s great for the price.
We were introduced to the Yorkshire Gold blend about 10 yrs. ago by a family member who lived in England for several years. Since then its been our breakfast tea of choice. And buying it in the 1 Kilo size is ideal because that usually sees us through 3-4 mos. of brewing. We’ve tried quite a variety of breakfast tea blends and for our taste at least Yorkshire Gold definitely brews the best “cuppa”!
