Ok, I know this is an organic grain product but flavor has to count for something. This stuff is like eating little chunks of wood. It has no flavor whatsoever. It take a while to put a bowl of this stuff away because it’s very hard — even when soaked in milk. (I use rice milk because it’s sweeter than soy milk.)
I wasn’t crazy about this cereal. I thought it would be a little like grape nuts, but it really was like small pieces of their bread dried up and crumbled (I do like their bread, but not this way). I was sorry that I bought the the six pack. Try to find it from your local grocery store and see if you like it before purchasing so many from here.
It has a great taste–I’m pretty addicted. Low sugar content, which is why I first bought it. It’s like a far superior version of Grapenuts–fresher and more wholesome. A lower price would be nice, but otherwise there’s nothing I would change about this cereal. I buy it by the case.
As I sit here eating a serving of this cereal for the first time, I must laugh at anyone who says it tastes like gravel. This is my very first time indulging in an organic cereal of any sort, and I must say, I have missed out on a lot. Knowing that the cereal has no added sugar, no additives, and no other garbage makes it taste even better. The texture is quite crunchy, sort of like a granola, but that does not take away from the cereal; in fact, it adds another dimension of wholesome goodness. I really recommend this to ANYONE, regardless of if you are a health nut vegan or fast food gorging meatball. You will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to try other varieties of this cereal. Thanks Amazon for the GREAT deal.
Eaten cold, this no-sugar-added cereal has a crunchy texture and a pleasantly sweet, subtle flavor, like a more sophisticated twist on Grape-Nuts. But it’s when this cereal is served hot that it really shines. In addition to packing far more flavor than oatmeal, it also has the perfect consistency for cooking; somehow, it never seems to stick to the bottom of the pot. And it takes just a few minutes.
Every person I’ve ever served this to has been impressed. “This is the most delicious oatmeal I’ve ever tasted,” they say. There’s no need for any sweetener, though raisins and sliced banana are always a welcome addition. Chopped walnuts are also great for adding protein and some extra crunch.
I like all of Ezekiel 4:9’s cereal varieties about equally well, and would pick any of them over any other kind of cereal. And Amazon’s prices beat those at my local grocery store. It’s a great way to stock up on a truly amazing breakfast food.
